Dr.Al Rasheed participated in the NCUSAR 27th Annual Arab-U.S. Policymakers Conference.
Dr. Turki Faisal Al Rasheed was a featured specialist at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations (NCUSAR) 27th Annual Arab-U.S. Policymakers Conference. The conference, held in Washington, D.C., USA, on 31 October and 01 November 2018, brought together leaders from around the world to analyze and discuss issues of importance to the Arab and American people. The theme of the 2018 conference was “What Paths Forward for American In and With the Arab Region?”
The two-day conference was covered by over 100 international media outlets. It was also broadcast live on C-SPAN, a leading U.S. news network, which enabled individuals around the globe to benefit from the proceedings.
According to the event organizer and administrator, NCUSAR, the 2018 Arab-U.S. Policymakers Conference had over 1,000 registrants. They included leaders from the corporate sector, serving and former diplomats, think tank specialists, academics, and others interested in the Arab region and the U.S.-Arab relationship.
The conference focused on ongoing challenges and issues in the Arab world. The first day included panels on Palestinian issues, energy dynamics, Arab-U.S. defense and countering extremism cooperation, and other issues of importance in Arab-U.S. relations. The second day included speakers discussing issues in Yemen and Egypt, geo-political dynamics in Arabia and the Gulf, Saudi Arabia’s national development plans and strategies, and, finally, the future of U.S.-Arab Relations.
Dr Al Rasheed was a featured panelist on the conference session titled “How Best to Understand Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’ Plan?” His delivered a presentation on sustainable development challenges and solutions that highlighted economic, social, and environmental sustainability issues vital to Vision 2030. Dr Al Rasheed was joined by other researchers and analysts in discussing how topics such as education, governance, business, and energy were critical to the success of Vision 2030.
Through two days of shared ideas, deliberation, and debate, NCUSAR’s 27th Annual Arab-U.S. Policymakers Conference offered much food for thought and practical recommendations for ways to enhance the future for both Arab and American people alike.
